Dr. Melea Shimkus joined the Helias Catholic faculty in 2020. She has a bachelor’s degree in English, a master’s degree in English and education along with EdD in Reading, Literacy and Assement.  She attended the University of Dallas, Central Methodist University, Arizona State University and Walden University.  Ms. Shimkus is American Board Certified.

Ms. Shimkus teaches American Literature, Argumentative Writing and Public Speaking. She also coaches the Speech Team and is one of the faculty advisors for the Competitive Theatre, Speech and Debate Team.
