Spectator Policy

Helias Catholic expects that student-athletes and coaches demonstrate integrity, sportsmanship and fair play, and these expectations extend also to our fans and visitors.

  1. INTEGRITY: Spectators should conduct themselves with integrity and honesty. This means refraining from engaging in any behavior that violates the rules and spirit of the game, such as taunting opposing student-athletes, interfering with the duties of officials or coaches, or attempting to influence the outcome of the game.
  2. SPORTSMANSHIP: Spectators should treat all student-athletes, coaches, staff, officials, and other spectators with respect and compassion. This means cheering only in a positive manner and refraining from insults and personal attacks, inappropriate language or profanity, and verbal or physical harassment. This also means respecting the facilities of our school.
  3. FAIR PLAY: Spectators should respect the rules of the game and the decisions of officials. This means not engaging in any behavior that would disrupt the game, interfere with play, or threaten the safety of any student-athlete, coach, staff member, official, or spectator.

To ensure these values are upheld, we ask that all spectators adhere to the following policies:

  1. Only student-athletes, staff, and designated school groups are permitted on the playing surface or sidelines. Spectators are expected to remain in designated areas and follow the instructions of school officials.
  2. Students and children who are not yet in high school must be accompanied by an adult.
  3. Per applicable laws and school policies, alcohol, tobacco, controlled substances, and weapons are not permitted on the premises.
  4. Potentially disruptive items such as oversized signs, loud noisemakers, or sports balls are not permitted in spectator areas.

Spectators who violate these policies may be required to leave the event and may be subject to disciplinary action.

Game officials and Helias Catholic personnel may require spectators who violate these policies to leave the event in order to maintain a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for all student-athletes, coaches, and spectators.
