LINCOLN UNIVERSITY is hosting a Water Boot Camp from July 23-27 through the cooperation of the Department of Agriculture and the Environmental Protection Agency. This camp is designed to encourage students to consider entering the field of water protection and environmental protection. Participants receive a $200 stipend. The program is limited to 20 individuals. If interested, applications are available in the counseling office or you may access by e-mail: daes@lincolnu.edu Preference will be given to juniors and seniors along with college freshmen and sophomores.

ALL STUDENTS

1. INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES are available at the Missouri Democratic Coordinated Campaign. Come and intern with the Missouri Democratic Coordinated Campaign. The campaign is looking for bright, energetic individuals who want to help reelect Senator Claire McCaskill and help our other Democratic candidates win statewide. Hours are completely flexible with a small requirement, and the Coordinated Campaign team is a lot of fun. No experience necessary. 2. STATE PARKS YOUTH CORPS is available to students ages 17-23 and the program runs from June 1-October 31. The work involves 85 state parks and state historic sites. Minimum wage pay of $7.25 per hour….400 hours average. Apply online with: Think Outside – State Parks Youth Corps or simply contact Missouri State Parks.

4. JOINT APPRENTICESHIP and TRAINING COMMITTEE will be accepting applications for the Inside Wireman Apprenticeship program on the first working Monday of each month. The minimum requirements for application are as follows: Applicant must be 18 years of age or older, Applicant must have completed one year of high school algebra with a passing grade, Applicant must have a high school diploma or GED, Applicant must live within the sixteen county jurisdiction of the union, Applicant must pay a $35.00 non-refundable application fee, Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license. 5. EXPLORING COLLEGE OPTIONS is a student/parent information session that introduces you to DUKE, GEORGETOWN, HARVARD, PENN, AND STANFORD Universities. The closest event is scheduled for St. Louis, on May 20, at the Marriott St. Louis Airport, 10700 Pear Tree Lane, St. Louis 314-423-9700.

CAPITAL REGION MEDICAL CENTER is looking for teenagers who would like to join their SUMMER TEEN VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION. Applicants must be 14 years old by June 6, 2012. Volunteens will be required to attend an orientation session on either Wednesday, April 11 or Thursday, April 12 at 6:00 p.m. Prior to orientation, you must register at: www.crmc.org and click on the Partners Auxiliary link to download and print the application.


SENIORS:

  2. BETA SIGMA PSI SCHOLARSHIP at the University of Missouri-Columbia is a $1000 scholarship available to a senior male who is LUTHERAN. The application deadline is April 26. Applications are available in the counseling office.
  3. FRATERNAL ORDER OF EAGLES SCHOLARSHIP is a $1000 award given to deserving students. This scholarship is available to all seniors with an April 20 deadline. Applications are available in the counseling office.
  4. BUCK FEVER SCHOLARSHIP is a $500 scholarship awarded to seniors who have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and have an interest in wildlife conservation. The application is available in the counseling office with an April 25 deadline. 
  5. LINCOLN UNIVERSITY has announced their SUMMER SCHOOL REGISTRATION will be open beginning Tuesday, May 29. They are currently accepting students for the summer semester; students can apply online or by mail. You may view summer school offerings at: https://webadvisor.lincolnu.edu/WebAdvisor/

  1.  PHEASANTS AND QUAIL FOREVER SCHOLARSHIP is a scholarship available to a senior with a minimum GPA of 3.0.  The students should be pursuing a career in conservation, natural resources, environmental education, conservation law enforcement, biology or related field.  You must also possess a Conservation Department hunting or fishing license.  The application is available in the counseling office with a March 28 deadline.
  2. DELTA SIGMA PHI-BETA BETA CHAPTER MEN OF ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLARSHIP is available to senior guys who are planning to apply to the University of Missouri-Columbia in the fall.  You must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.  The application is available in the counseling office with an April 20 deadline.
  3. AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY WOMEN SCHOLARSHIP is a scholarship available to a graduating senior GIRL who has a minimum GPA of 3.6 and who intends to continue their education at a college or university.  The application is available in the counseling office with a March 30 deadline.
  4. ELDON CAREER CENTER PRACTICAL NURSING PROGRAM is now accepting applications.  The application is available in the counseling office.  Entrance into the program requires an entrance test that must be pre-arranged.  For more information, contact Sue Miller at 573-392-3286.

JUNIORS:
